Deciding On A Career Path
By randomguy. Filed in Random |They had told me that I should take my college courses based on what I wanted to do with my life, but how was I supposed to know what I wanted to do at 17 years old? The list of jobs helped a little bit. I was able to look at several different careers that I had never seen before. On the list about finding a career , for example, there were interesting wildlife jobs that I had never even considered. Although it might seem obvious now, it had never occurred to me that someone could make a living as a park ranger. I was pretty tempted by that idea for a while, but then my parents showed me a list of high paying careers. I was pretty mature for my age. I knew that, no matter how much I like being outdoors in the woods, making money is important for me.
The first list of careers didn't have salaries, but when I investigated the money that come from some of the jobs I was looking at, I realize that I wasn't thinking right. All the jobs I had been contemplating did not pay very well. I was used to having the best things, and I certainly don't want my kids to grow up poor. After I finished looking over the career list, I began studying universities that could get me there.
At first, I wanted to go to an accredited unversity online . I figured it would be nice to be able to spend time at home, just hanging out around the neighborhood with my girlfriend. When I decided to be a lawyer, however, my parents convinced me that I should go to a full college university. The only downside was online universities list of careers offered many choices for people, but lacked classes for those who wanted to study law. I went to a traditional university and the rest, as they say, is history.
