When it comes to CRM for small business I'm pretty sold on web-based CRM solutions that are hosted by the vendor. And since I love lists, I've decided to whip up a short list of reasons.

In case you aren't sure what CRM hosted software is here is a brief overview: hosted CRM solutions run on the vendor's server rather than yours and they can be accessed through a web interface or a desktop application.

Ok here's the list:

  • Hosted CRM solutions generally come with all the high-end features of an on-premises solution.
  • Hosted CRM is a flexible solution that allows a small business to subscribe to only the features they need, when they need them. This "pay as you go" model enables a small business to adapt a Hosted CRM solution to their needs.
  • The benefit of anytime, anywhere access to your Customer Relationship Management system from any location when needed. This helps to facilitate the sales & marketing processes in terms of accuracy, speed, and effectiveness.
  • On-the-road accessibility supports sales record keeping, lead generation and sales conversion.
  • Customer data is as safe and secure as anything you can come up with on your own.
  • Vendors make sure your data is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • No fancy application to install & manage all you need is a standards-based web browser.
  • No team of techs to hire and manage or to outsource support then wonder if they are going to respond in a timely manner.

That is the quick list of reasons I lean towards hosted CRM software. This is just a starting point and as always your own due diligence is required.
